West Grove Fire Company units assisted the Union Fire Company of Oxford early Friday morning on a commercial building fire on South Third Street in Oxford at Robinson's Furniture.

The owner of Robinson's Furniture discovered a fire burning in basement on his security camera feed and dialed 911. The dispatch brought Oxford, with assists from the West Grove, Cochranville, Rising Sun and Quarryville Fire Companies. Oxford Borough police reported a fire in the basement.

WGFC responded to assist Oxford with Ladder 22, Engine 22-2, and Engine 22-1. Oxford put three handlines in service, with four ladder trucks including Ladder 22 deploying ladders to the roof. WGFC assisted with hose line handling and smoke ventilation, and securing HVAC systems. WGFC crews were on scene for just over an hour.
