On Tuesday, June 12 at 1425 hours, Station 12 was alerted for an engine to transfer into Cecil County Station 13 (Singerly Fire Company, Elkton, Maryland). Stations 3, 13, and 14 (Singerly) were out on a cork yard fire just outside the town of Elkton, in the 500 block of Blueball Road.
Engine 12-1, with a crew of four, responded shortly after the alert. After the 13 mile trip, the Engine arrived and pulled into the house and watched the thunderstorms roll through town. When the fire was brought under control units began to arrive back to the "13 House", where 12-1's crew helped clean up the hundreds of feet of hoseline and repack the clean hose back onto the trucks. At 1832 hours, Singerly was available from the scene, releasing Engine 12-1.
A special thanks goes out to the Singerly Fire Company and their Ladies Auxiliary for making sandwiches and the wonderful hospitality! |
