| West Grove Fire Company emergency medical technician Brendan Gardill today was named "Homes for Heroes First Responder of the Year," recognized as one of Chester County's finest first responders. The recognition was made at ceremonies held at the Kennett Square Golf & Country Club. Through the efforts of Kimberly Sheehan, Realtor, and Ken Pitts, head of Ken Pitts Mortgage Team- First Choice Mortgage Advisors, Brendan was recognized for his efforts to go above and beyond to care for his patients and peers. In making the award, it was noted that Brendan was nominated by 19 of his peers in the EMS community, a strong indication of how first responders view his commitment to serving the southern Chester County Community. The Homes For Heroes Program's mission is to provide extraordinary savings to heroes who provide extraordinary services to our nation and its communities every day. Since 2009, Homes for Heroes, Inc., has helped over 60,000 heroes save over $113 million on their real estate transactions, sold over $15 billion in real estate to heroes, actively partnered with more than 4,500 like-minded real estate and mortgage professionals who’ve joined in the mission, and donated over $1.2 million to heroes in need through the Homes for Heroes Foundation. The WGFC is fortunate to have local business leaders like Kimberly Sheehan and Ken Pitts be so supportive of first responders. And, importantly, we are extremely proud of the career and volunteer EMTs who staff WGFC ambulances and respond to thousands of EMS emergencies each year.
