The West Grove Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Union Fire Company of Oxford (21) on a reported fire in the basement just before 5pm. WGFC responded with Engines 22-2 and 22-1, Tanker 22, and Ladder 22. Tanker 22 went to scene to supply water, with Engine 22-2 completing the supply line hose lay with another 600' of five-inch supply line and then standing by at the fire hydrant some 850' from the fire scene. WGFC firefighters joined with 21 crews to open up walls to check for fire extension on all three floors of the house, with three attack lines ultimately in service.

The fire was brought under control quickly with no injuries reported. WGFC units returned after about one hour. WGFC fire police were also on scene to assist 21 with traffic control and road closures.
