Multiple people were injured, and traffic was snarled due to a car crash on Route 896 in London Britain Township on Monday.

The West Grove Fire Company along with paramedics from Medic 94 were dispatched to the crash at 5:38pm at Chambers Rock Road and 896 for a reported two-car crash. Multiple callers to the Chester County 911 Center reported injuries.

WGFC responded with Rescue 22, Engine 22-1, Brush 22, two ambulances and fire police. While WGFC enroute, an ambulance from Avondale was added to the assignment due to the number of injuries reported. When units arrived, they found a two-car crash blocking the roadways, and teams began to treat patients, secure the vehicles, and attempt to manage late afternoon traffic.

Ultimately, multiple patients were transported to the hospital, with WGFC units on scene about an hour until the damaged vehicles could be removed and traffic restored.
