Tuesday was a busy day for the West Grove Fire Company with numerous EMS runs and five calls for the fire department, including a three-vehicle crash on busy Route 41 in London Grove Township.
WGFC was dispatched for the crash at just past 1pm on Route 41 at the intersection with Route 1. Reports indicated three vehicles were involved with potential injuries. WGFC responded with Engine 22-2 (Engine 25-1 on loan from the Longwood Fire Company) and Rescue 22 and the Ambulances, along with Fire Police.
West Grove units discovered an SUV that had been rear-ended by a pickup pulling a utility trailer. Then a tractor trailer struck the trailer from behind. The resulting wreckage blocked portions of Route 41, and resulted in one person injured -- transported from the scene by WGFC EMS to Chester County Hospital. WGFC crews controlled any hazards at the scene, with the Fire Police maintaining traffic flow until the crash scene could be cleared. |
