Fire Companies across the area were dispatched to assist the Union Fire Company of Oxford Sunday morning for a commercial building fire in East Nottingham Township.

Reports to the Chester County 911 Center reported a roof on fire at Keystone Wood Treating in Oxford. Arriving Oxford units reported smoke and fire from a structure used to generate heat for drying lumber. The fire was in a smaller structure that is attached to a very large building where significant lumber is stored for drying purposes. Oxford crews got water on the burning materials quickly, working to avoid fire extension.

The West Grove Fire Company had a strong response, with Engine 22-2 responding from West Grove as the third due Engine, and Ladder 22 and Tanker 22 also arriving quickly. Rescue 22 from New London and Engine 22-3 from Landenberg also were on scene, along with Ambulance 22, Utility 22, and WGFC fire police.

The incident was declared under control in about 20 minutes with no injuries.
