A multi-vehicle crash happened on the US Route 1 Bypass in London Grove Township on Tuesday morning that left vehicles and debris scattered across the highway and median.

West Grove Fire Company units were dispatched just before 9:00am for a crash reported with two vehicles, including one rolled over. Paramedics from Medic 94 were also dispatched on the call. WGFC responded with Rescue 22, Engine 22-2 and Engine 22-3, along with two Ambulances.

Crews arrived on scene at the 14.3 mile marker, near the overpass for North Guernsey Road to find two crashed vehicles on the northbound side of the highway, one overturned. The cable median barrier system along the median on Route 1 did its job -- keeping the two crashed vehicles from crossing the median into the southbound lanes. One vehicle was pulling a trailer -- in the crash, it separated from the truck, and wound up on the other side of the wire retention system.

WGFC EMS and Medic 94 transported one crash victim to the hospital. WGFC fire crews and Fire Police assisted the State Police with traffic control, and cleared the incident in less than one hour.
