The West Grove Fire Company wants you to know that a line of smoke detectors and combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors has been recalled.

In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Kidde Corporation has announced a recall of certain detectors sold under the brand "TruSense" from May of 2019 until September of 2020. This recall involves Kidde TruSense Smoke Alarms and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms. The recalled units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in this recall. The model number is printed on the back of the alarm.

These detectors may fail to alert consumers if there is a fire and should be replaced immediately. The recalled models are the TruSense 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070 lines, purchased May 2019 through September 2020, due to a potential safety risk. Kidde intends to work with customers to replace all affected units with new alarms. Kidde is offering replacement alarms with enhanced features such as built-in 10-year batteries that eliminate additional costs and time through the elimination of battery changes over the 10-year life of the alarm.
