March 11, 2010
Cub Scout Pack 54 and their families visited the West Grove Fire Company Station 22 on Thursday, March 11. The tour was led by Firefighter Lisa Glass and began in the meeting room where the scouts learned what directions to follow in the event of an alarm. The Scouts also got to view the numerous trophies won by the Fire Company over the past decades. After the briefing, the Scouts proceeded to the Truck Bays, where they got an up-close look at each of the modern apparatus housed in the station. Included in their tour was Squad 22, Ambulance 22-1, Engine 22, Ladder 22, Rescue 22 and Tanker 22. While touring the inside of the Ambulance, Scouts were able to try on gloves while learning from FireFighter Lisa what they can do to stay healthy by reducing exposure to germs. The evening concluded back in the meeting room where the Scouts received coloring books, pencils, decals and Firefighter Helmets. Each cub scout earned 3 beads.
Assisting Firefighter Glass were Firefighter/EMT Lt. Charles Foy Jr. and Firefighter Charles Foy Sr.
