The West Grove Fire Company is proud to send its oldest apparatus to training. With the new addition of Rescue 22 it was unclear what to do with the 1987 Seagrave. The Chester County Department of Emergency Services is building a new training facility and expressed an interest. It was decided that the Seagrave would stay where we believe training should be, in Chester County. The Seagrave has served the West Grove Fire Company well for many years. It first went into service as 22-1, an attack pumper, but within a few years found it was carrying rescue tools known as the "Jaws of Life". The load and demand was getting too great and a new Rescue/Pumper was purchased in 1996. The Seagrave known as Engine 22, went back to being an Attack Pumper. This lasted until 2004 when the arrival of a new Pumper came to town and the Seagrave went to station 12 as a second out piece. Now becoming Engine 12-2 the truck responded second out and continued to fill its roll in the West Grove Fire Company. Many fond memories of 22-1, Engine 22 or Engine 12-2.
