Shortly after returning from a previous auto accident call, West Grove Fire Company was dispatched to assist Cochranville Fire Company on a reported house fire in Londonderry Township.
The call was located on Phillips Mill Road just off Route 796. The Chester County 911 Center received multiple calls of smoke coming from a residence.
Responding quickly, Ladder 22 and Tanker 22 arrived at the residence, encountering heavy smoke conditions as they entered the front door looking for the seat of the fire. The crews quickly knocked down the fire, while performing an initial search for anyone inside. Ambulance crews from WGFC Ambulances assisted in throwing ground ladders and stretching lines, as additional crews from Cochranville, Longwood, and Oxford arrived.
Due to having crews available from the previous call, the responders were able to make a quick stop and limit damage. Thanks to Cochranville Fire Company for photos used in this story. |
