Sunday afternoon fire house pagers sounded for a house fire for the Union Fire Company of Oxford and surrounding companies. The call was on Township Road in Lower Oxford Township. The initial dispatch reported a fire on the front porch extending to the house.

Deputy 21 arrived to find a 1-1/2 story log cabin with fire throughout the first floor and extending to the second. A Working Fire Dispatch was requested and numerous hand lines were placed into service by Union Firefighters and surrounding departments. West Grove Fire Company responded with crews on Ladder 22, Tanker 22 and Engine 22-2.

Companies remained on scene for several hours performing overhaul. The blaze is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.
