This weeks training drill focused on firefighter survival techniques, there are many great drills that focus on real-life problems firefighters face routinely. Tonight's drills included the entanglement and spaghetti drills. This evening sixteen WGFC firefighters gathered at the London Britain Station to conduct this training.

The entanglement drill tests the firefighters ability to work their way free of materials that are likely to get entangled in their equipment as they move through hostile environments. Other discussion points included breathing air conservation, remaining calm and knowing when to call for help.

The spaghetti drill provides training for firefighters who may become separated from their hose line or disoriented in a burning building. If able to find the hose line the firefighter can follow the hose line out of the building by reading the hose coupling connections. The coupling connection hardware will provide the firefighter directional orientation leading out toward the truck.

The Training Committee and Line Officers thank our members for their time commitment to training and public safety.
