Memorial Day Mutal Aid Response

During the height of the Annual Kennett Square Memorial Day Parade the Southern End Companies were dispatched for a building fire in the 1200 Block of Newark Road, New Garden Township. Units on the parade route from the Kennett Square Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company , Avondale Fire Company and West Grove Fire Company responded direct. Regional Police on location reported a working structure fire with fire through the roof. Chief-23 established command and requested the working fire upgrade which added Medic-94- EMS and Cochranville Fire Company to the assignment.

Hand lines were pulled and the fire was reported under control in 20 minutes with all units working. Additional precautions were taken by first responders as this building was used to store products required to support agricultural activities.

Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company (36) relocated to 22, Christiana Fire Company - Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (52) relocated to 23, and Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester (52) relocated to 25 for the duration of the event.
