One of the basic duties of fire service members is to perform some sort of forcible entry to gain access to a residence or commercial structure in the event of an emergency. This task can be very easy or very difficult based on the level of security of the entry point. Monday evenings training session utilized a door prop which simulates multiple door swings and difficulty levels to overcome. Common techniques were reviewed and practiced using hand tools along with newer hydraulic devices. Over 20 WGFC members attended the training session.

A special thanks to the Keystone Valley Fire Department for the use of their door prop and to KVFD Deputy Chief Schreiber for sharing his knowledge.
