By West Grove Fire Company
March 9, 2017

At 5:30 pm the WGFC along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 400 block of Pennock Bridge Road in New London Township for a Shed fire with possible exposure to the house. Chief-22 arrived on scene and reported a quarter acre of woods on fire with an exposure problem to the shed and house. Chief-22 directed the first in Engine ( E-22-2) to pull into the driveway and lead off with an 1.75" hose line. Engine 22-2 laid a supply line from the street up the driveway and advanced the line. The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down and extension problems to the shed and decking were addressed. Crews from Ladder-22 Engine-22-1 & Engine 22-3 assisted in overhaul. Tanker 22 supplied Engine 22-2 with 3,000 gallons of water. Mutual aid companies were returned to quarters or sent to stand-by while West Grove crews were in service.

While leaving the scene of the Pennock Bridge Road incident, Chester County Fire Dispatch advised Chief-22 of two additional emergencies in the district. The first being an auto accident at the intersection for Route-896 and Chesterville Rd. in Franklin Township. Engine 22-3, Ambulance 22-2 and the cover units from Station-21 handled this two vehicle crash with occupants to be checked. The second incident was an automatic fire alarm in the 400 block of Wyncote Court in New London Township. Engine 22-2 and Ladder 22 responded to find the alarm system set off by cooking. All units were cleared by 6:45pm.
