Working Front End Loader Fire

On November 2, 2016, at 18:27 hours, The West Grove Fire Company was dispatched to a front end loader on fire, at Gourmet Delight Mushrooms on Garden Station Road. The chief’s went enroute right after dispatch and was advised of a front end loader that was on fire on the side of the building. Chief 22 arrived on scene at 18:33 hours and confirmed a loader well involved with fire. He advised the incoming units that once inside the complex to come to the Bravo (left) side of the building. Rescue 22, followed shortly behind by Tanker 22, was the first suppression piece on scene. The crews deployed two 1 ¾” hose lines, and began attacking the fire. Within minutes, the fire was contained, and at 18:45 hours, Chief 22 placed the fire under control. Additional units responded, Engine 22-2 and Brush 22, both assisted in suppression and overhaul duties. Ambulance 22-1 and Fire Police were also on scene assisting with the incident. In total around 2,500 gallons of water was used from Tanker 22.

Crews remained until 19:46 hours. The incident was turned over to the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office for further investigation.
