The history of West Grove was on full display as the Chester County summer Town Tours and Village Walk series came to the borough on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Prominently featured was a stop across the street from the West Grove Fire Company.

More than 200 visitors came to West Grove Borough for an evening stroll around town. Speakers were positioned at various points along the way, telling stories of West Grove's history. One such stop was on Prospect Street, where speaker Chuck Freese talked about the historic buildings near the intersection of Prospect and Rosehill. Chuck was dressed to mimic a doctor, as he told the story of the various Dr. Ewings who cared for residents and visitors over three generations.

Prominently featured at this tour stop was the historic West Grove Fire Company. Parked next to this tour stop was Antique 22, on proud display as the centerpiece of the historic walk. Chuck told the story of Elsie, and visitors got a close up look at the amazing restoration of the 1928 Hale fire truck - the first new fire truck purchased by the WGFC.

The WGFC is surrounded by historic buildings including the original town hardware store, the former West Grove Inn and the former West Grove Hospital.
