At 3:48 pm stations 23, 24, 25 and 36 were dispatched for a reported house fire on the 700 block of Brighton lane in the Bancroft Woods development in New Garden twp. Within minutes the Police Department arrived on scene and confirmed that there was some type of active fire within the residence. Upon that report Chief 23 added West Grove Fire Company to the assignment for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).
Chief 24 arrived and confirmed the report. First arriving crews stretched an attack line to the basement and located the seat of the fire. Upon Rescue 22's arrival the crew of 5 brought all their hand tools, power tools and the RIT bag to the A/D corner of the structure and stood by. The Crew from 23, 24, 25 and 36 operated on the scene extinguishing the basement fire and ventilating. Once the RIT team was stood down the crew was requested to assist with some minor overhaul in the building.

The Chester County Fire Marshals are investigating the cause.
