Second Working Fire in East Nottingham this week

At 6:51 on May 26 the WGFC E-12 was dispatched to assist Oxford with a house fire. Within minutes the call was upgraded to a working house fire and L-22 and T-22 were added to the incident. E-12 made the response with a crew of 5 (Hoseman 12 Forde OIC, FF Meade, FF T Gialloreto, FF Lindsay with Captain 12 (Hannan) as Operator. Soon after L-22 made the response with LT22 (Vattilana OIC, FF Pearson and FF Mea and Operator Glass). T-22 made the response with Chief Engineer Hicks and FF Talley on board. Once on scene E-12 took a second line into the C side for a fire attack and assisted with suppression. L-22 upon arrival was assigned laddering the building as well as exterior ventilation. T-22 assisted in the water shuttle as this was in a non hydrant area. The building was soon evacuated due to a major collapse of the first floor as well as deteriorating conditions. All windows were removed as well as a ventilation hole in the roof assisted in quickly containing the fire. Units worked for approximately 4 hours to completely extinguish the fire due to the advanced stage of the fire, the hazards present from a partial collapse and a electric hazard that needed to be contained before an aggressive attack could resume.

The house was undergoing a major renovation which added to the complexity of the call.
