Monday, July 19, 2010, at 1300 hours, the West Grove Fire Company along with Medic 94 were dispatched to an accident with unknown injuries. Deputy 22, Medic 94-1, and Ambulance 22-3 went enroute right away. Chester called back, upgrading to a pick-up vs. a pole and occupant is disoriented. Rescue 22 went enroute with a crew of 4 at 1308.
Medic 94-1 arrived on scene stating "one Pick-up truck vs. a Bridge and all occupants are out." Deputy 22 arrived on scene and did a quick scene size up of the damage to the bridge and telephone pole. Deputy then called Chester to have Verizon and a Bridge representative come to the scene. Ambulance 22-3 arrived on scene shortly after and started patient care; they transported one patient to the hospital. Rescue 22 arrived on scene and secured the hazards from the truck and closed the bridge. Brush 12 closed Saginaw Road at Kings Row Road and Ridge Lane to prevent anyone from crossing the bridge until a PennDOT representative arrived to assess the damages.
Once the pick-up was moved and the bridge inspected, the road was re-opened. Rescue 22, Brush 12, and Deputy 22 went available at 1439.
